Sri Lanka Army attacked several LTTE bunkers and war trenches in Wempathukerni ,Nagarkovil in Jaffna from 04.35am to 11.45 am yesterday. The Media Center for National Security (MCNS) informs Army was able to destroy 20m of LTTE defence earth bund in the same area.
Meanwhile severe fighting took place between the government troops and LTTE in Andankulam Mullaitivu. It is reported that LTTE suffered heavy losses. According to the MCNS, intense fighting erupted between the government troops and LTTE Kotkulliwelli, Chempankundi, Weniyanyakulam ,Vilakkavittakulam in Kilinochchi and LTTE sustained heavy damage.
