Four LTTE carders killed in North Central Sri Lanka

The Security Forces killed four suspected LTTE cadres in a confrontation at Horowpathana in Anuradhapura, North Central part of the country this afternoon.

According to the defence sources in the area the LTTE cadres were killed during a special search operation conducted by the Army in a jungle patch located 9 km northeast of Horowpathana on information received from civilian sources.

Following the incident troops have found four T-56 rifles, three claymore mines, two remote controls and 20 antipersonnel mines. Recently suspected LTTE cadres kidnapped nine civilians who had ventured into the jungles in Horowpathana and later released them.
