Indo-Lanka leaders meet in Egypt

President Mahinda Rajapaksa today met Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh at the Maritim Jolie Ville Golf & Resort in the Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. The President appraised the Indian Premier of the current situation of the displaced people in Northern Sri Lanka and the government's efforts to reconstruct the North and resettle the people within 180 days. India recently pledged a US$ 100 million assistance to Sri Lanka for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons in government transit facilities.

On the sidelines of the 15th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit held at the Red Sea resort town of Sharm-el-Sheik, Egypt today held bilateral meetings with several other heads of state, including President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.
