No Sri Lankans affected in Jakarta blasts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today confirmed that there were no Sri Lankans affected by the blasts that rocked Jakarta today. The Ministry sources told the Observer Online that they are still proceeding with collecting facts on Sri Lankans through the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, but there were no reports of anyone affected yet.

Two powerful bomb blasts targeted the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels in the Indonesian capital this morning. According to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jakarta, nine people were killed and at least 50 wounded including two Australians. Indonesian police claimed that their bomb squad had found another unexploded bomb at the JW Marriott Hotel. Nobody has claimed responsibility yet for the attacks.
