A man was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for the premeditated murder of his lover's husband.
The Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced 23-year-old R.K, a Sri Lankan, to life followed by deportation for murdering his compatriot. Life imprisonment carries a jail term of 25 years, according to UAE law.
R.K. appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance and denied the murder charge, claiming that he only wanted to quarrel with the victim, but did not intend to kill him.
