US gives six million rupees for flood victims

The US has extended aid worth six million rupees for the victims of the recent floods.

USAID has agreed to extend the funds through the Sri Lanka Red Cross. Due to the torrential rains experienced during the past few days the people in Galle, Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts were affected. In addition to the funds allocated by the Sri Lankan Government several countries including the US have offered assistance.
