Milco’s dairy products prices to remain

[June 22 2010]

Milco, the main company producing dairy products from locally produced milk will not increase the price of milk powder on a Livestock and Rural Community Development Minister Arumugan Thondaman’s directive.

The increase in milk powder is due to the increase in the prices of imported milk powder. This increase in price will not affect Milco’s milk powder as it depends only on local milk production.

Milco has decided to give a 10 percent increased price to farmers who are Milco suppliers. Milco processes around 55 million lt to 60 million lt of milk per year produced by around 37,000 farmer families.
