A new prison in Jaffna

<p>A new prison, with an extent of two and half acres, will be built in Jaffna at a cost of Rs. 272 million, the Prison and Prison’s Rehabilitation Ministry sources said. 

<p>At present, the Jaffna prison is in a temporary building with no proper facilities and security. Earlier it was in the Dutch Fort and the prison buildings were damaged due to the conflict situation in the North.
