Pakistan ‘A’ vs. Sri Lanka ‘A’ second ‘Test’ evenly poised

The second unofficial Test between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘A’ is heading for an interesting finish as bowlers continued to call the tune on the second day of their four-day game at Sooriyawewa International Stadium in Hambantota today.

Set to make 179 to win in little over two days, Pakistan ‘A’ were struggling at 93 for 5 at close – still needing 86 runs for victory with only five second innings wickets in hand. Earlier in the day, Sri Lanka ‘A’, resuming from their overnight total of 43 for 2, went on to make 176 all out with Dinesh Chandimal making a top score of 46. Paceman Junaid Khan had 5 for 50 for the visitors.

Pakistan ‘A’: first innings 94 all out (Mohammed Rameez 16, Sachithra Senanmayake 6 for 19, Suranga Lakmal had 4 for 33) and second innings 93 for 5 at close (Abid Ali 20, Hamad Azam 23 n.o, Jeewan Mendis 3 for 20).
