All three culprits in India’s Dharmapuri bus burning case, the three capital punishment convicts who are members of the AIADMK, will be hanged on October 8. Reports from India sais the First Additional District Sessions Judge Salem, Raghavan, sent a communication to the Vellore Central Prison on Tuesday regarding the finalization of the date for hanging. “.... They are to be hanged till death”, says the court order, sources added.

The death sentence delivered by the Salem I Additional District Sessions Judge D Krishna Raja on February 16, 2007, was challenged in the High Court and then in Supreme Court. The special bench of the apex court upheld the lower court’s judgement on August 30.

Nedu alias Neduncheizhian (41), AIADMK third ward secretary of Dharmapuri, Madhu alias Ravindran (44), then MGR Forum secretary, and C Muniappan (52), a panchayat president in Dharmapuri are the three facing death sentence. The only legal course left for the trio is to seek Presidential clemency.
