India rules out presence of heavy workforce in Sri Lanka September 23 2010

Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha ruled out speculation of extraordinary labour presence in Sri Lanka. “We have no competition with any country in the region to get down a large number of Indian employees to obtain labour,” he said.

“Of course we may get down some expertise to mastermind projects we have undertaken in Sri Lanka but we will not get down manpower from India. We are not going to get down constriction workers, masons and carpenters for the Indian projects. We will always use local raw material and labour,” he assured.
