Terror is terror, whatever mask it wears, President tells UNGA

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, addressing the 65th UN General Assembly today said terror is terror, whatever mask it wears and however it is packaged. He added that the LTTE was an brutal terrorist organisation which killed their own people. Even though they claimed to represent, the Tamil community of Sri Lanka, the vary same people were the victims of the LTTE terror, as the rest of the population of our country, he said.

President Rajapaksa said he wish to remind those observing the battle with the LTTE outside and suggested that the Sri Lankan government should have conceded to the demands of the terrorists, that terror is terror, whatever mask it wears and however it is packaged, he said.

President Rajapaksa added that his responsibility is to the entire nation. My responsibility is to the lives of millions of men, women and children, and those yet to born. My responsibility is to the and prosperity of the nation and the right to peaceful society for all who live there, he told the UNGA.
