CCCA wait SC ruling on Lalith’s gold by Lalin Fernandopulle [September 28 2010]

The Committee of Certified Chartered Accountants (CCCA) is awaiting a Supreme Court ruling on the Rs. 60 million worth gold of the Ceylinco Group Chairman, Lalith Kotelawela, said Head of the CCCA. Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala.

He said the Committee will depend on the Court directive to either use the money to repay Golden Key Credit Card Company (GKCCC) depositors or deposit it in a separate account.

The Criminal Investigations Department recovered the gold in a State bank vault in Colombo which had not been declared by Lalith Kotelawela. The gold had been deposited by Lalith Kotelawela and his wife Cecille

Kotelawela who is under an arrest warrant for the alleged misappropriation of Rs. 26 billion deposits of GKCCC.
