The Cement Corporation expects to generate over 500 job opportunities for Jaffna youth, at the newly set up cement factory in Jaffna, before the end of this year.
The Corporation Sisira Paranagama said over 100 youth were already employed in the factor which manufactures electricity poles, cement blocks and cylinders.
Meanwhile, Corporation plans to reopen the Kankesanthurai cement plant soon.
