Sri Lanka discussed to get UNWTO help [October 07 2010]  

The government has discussed the avenues to get the assistance of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) to develop tourism in Sri Lanka.

The Economic Development Deputy Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, who is now attending the World Tourism Conference in Malaysia, had a discussion with the UNWTO Secretary General, Dr. Taleb Rifai to find possibilities to get UNWTO help to boost tourism.

Sri Lanka will host the 23rd UNWTO Commission for Asia meetings next year.
