NOC chief to accompany President to Comm Games ‘closing’

<P>President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC) Hemasiri Fernando will accompany President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi on Thursday (14). The Lankan delegation, headed by the President, is due to fly for India tomorrow.

<P>President Rajapaksa has been invited to the closing ceremony as an honoured guest.

<P>Sri Lanka will be bidding to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Hambantota along with Australia’s Gold Coast City.
