Japan relaxes travel advisory

<P>With the improved security situation in the country, the Japanese
government has decided to further relax its travel advisory on the
Northern province.


<P>“ Following the improvement on the current situation in the country,
the Ministry has decided to reduce the security cautionary level in
Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Mannar cities on a par with the city
of Colombo”, a statement released by the Embassy said.


<P>Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Japan recommended the
Japanese nationals to ‘defer all travel to the areas other than the
cities of Vavuniya and Mannar.

<P>But other areas in the North are not yet considered for travel as
de-mining activities are going on. as safe as not yet declared as the
areas .
