The Sinhalese families who claim land ownership in Jaffna were given an assurance that it will be solved within three months after a consultation with President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Minister of Resettlement Minister Milroy Fernando told the Sunday Observer online that there were evidence that there were a Sinhalese population in Jaffna who owned bakeries, furniture and jewellery shops but yet the government needs clear legal documents to prove their ownership.
“ We are in the process of cheacking all the available documents with the relavent authorities to get proof”, he said.
