Opener Mahela Jayawardene blasted a explosive 59 off 35 balls as Sri Lanka registered a 22-run win over New South Wales in their Twenty20 day-night match played at Olympic Park Oval in Sydney today.

Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka made 167 for 4 in 20 overs with Jayawardene making a top score of 59 with nine boundaries. In reply, New South Wales were 100 for 2 when rain brought a premature end after 14 overs. Sri Lanka won by 22 runs on Duckworth and Lewis rule. Suraj Randiv accounted for both the New South Wales wickets to fall for 14 runs during his three-over spell.
