Alston Koch to sing SL anthem at MCG [October 27 2010]

Sri Lankan Tourism Ambassador Alston Koch, has been officially appointed by Cricket Australia to sing the Sri Lankan National Anthem at the 1st One Day International Cricket match to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds on November 3.

The game will be televised worldwide to an expected audience of over 1.5 billion. Koch is known for his interests in cricket going back to the early 1980s when he recorded a song with the then Australian Cricket Captain Kim Hughes.

He is being privileged to have Steve Waugh and the Australian Cricket team launch his album in Sri Lanka at the Rock Cafe in 1999 and more recently writing and performing the official song for cricketing World Champion Muttiah Muralitharan.
