Tiger cub died of pneumonia [October 30 2010]

The postmortem of the Bengali Tiger cub of the Dehiwala zoo, has revealed that the immediate cause of death as respiratory failure due to acute pneumonia.

According to the Director of National Zoological Garden Bashwara Senanka Gunaratne, tests will be carried out to find out the reasons for this acute pneumonia condition.

The cub’s lungs and several other tissue samples have already been sent to the Department of Veterinary Science of the Peradeniya University.
