Clinton to stump for Malloy In Conn. Gov. race [October 31 2010]

The two major party candidates for Connecticut governor are spending their final hours before Tuesday’s election trying boost turnout at the polls. Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to appear Sunday at a Halloween night rally at the University of Hartford for Dan Malloy, the Democratic candidate for governor.

Clinton is also slated to appear with freshman Democratic Congressman Jim Himes in Norwalk. Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley, meanwhile, is scheduled to spend Sunday in the western part of the state. His potential stops include Halloween events in Newtown and New Canaan, and a pancake breakfast in Norwalk.

A Quinnipiac University poll last week has Malloy with a slight lead over Foley. Both are hoping to fill the job now held by retiring Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell.
