Indian Coast Guard Chief arrives on Nov. 8 [November 5 2010]

Indian Coast Guard Chief Inspector General V.R.S. Murthy will be arriving in Sri Lanka along with a high level delegation of officers for a seven day visit on November 8.

“Discussions would focus on coorporation and collaboration between Indian and Sri Lankan Coast Guards and assistance need in its capacity building efforts,” said Rear Admiral Daya Darmapriya, Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard.

According to Rear Admiral Darmapriya the delegation will be having formal discussions with Commander of Navy, Director General of Dept of Fisheries, Director General of Customs and Head of Police Narcotic Bureau on matters related to respective areas.

Delegation is expected to visit Sri Lanka Coast Guard base at Mirissa, Ports of Colombo and Galle, Southern and Western Naval Commands and Colombo Dockyard.
