France continues to ban LTTE [November 5 2010]

The LTTE will remain as a banned organisation in France, the External Affairs Ministry Director General of Public Communication Bandula Jayasekara said.

The pro-LTTE supporters have erected a bust statue of late LTTE Political wing leader Thamilchelvan in La Courneuve, early this week.

A media release from the French Embassy in Colombo states” The organization of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), of which Suppayya Paramu Tamilselvan was a cadre, is a movement which has been listed since 2006 as a terrorist organization by the European Union and is forbidden by all European Union Member States including France”.
