The Ministry of Defence has decided to select the winners of the ‘Rana Viru Real Star’, the mega musical show for the tri-service personel, based on remarks by the panel of judges instead of number of ‘Short Message Service’ (SMSs).
Director General of Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalla said a less percentage would be given to the SMSs to select the winners but the selection would be done mainly on the marks given by the panel of judges.
“ The selections will be held until May 28, 2011 and will be continue for three consecutive years”, he said.
According to Hulugalla, out of 30,000 applications received from the three forces, 500 have been selected to contest. The ‘Rana Viru Real Star’, is a concept of the Secretary Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
