Ship unload coal for Norochcholai [November 17 2010]

A ship load of over 40,000 tones of coal from Indonesia has started discharging coal to the Norochcholai Coal power plant, which started burning coal today.

Sri Lanka tested coal burning at its first coal fired power plant which will generate 300 MW of power in the first phase.

Ministers Champika Ranawake, Susil Premajayantha and W.D.G Seniviratne participated at the event.
