A seat for President in Parliament [November 24 2010]

A seat in the Chamber of Parliament is reserved for President Mahinda Rajapaksa with the recent Constitutional amendments.

Under the provisions of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution, the President is to attend Parliament at least once in three month.

The front row seat that was allocated to the Prime Minister was reserved for the President and Prime Minister D M Jayaratne was given the seat on the left to the President.
