A seat for President in Parliament

<P>A seat in the Chamber of Parliament is reserved for President Mahinda
Rajapaksa with the recent Constitutional amendments.

<P>Under the provisions of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution, the
President is to attend Parliament at least once in three month.

<P>The front row seat that was allocated to the Prime Minister was
reserved for the President and Prime Minister D M Jayaratne was given
the seat on the left to the President.
