Army warns of a fraudster in Jaffna [November 24 2010]

The Sri Lanka army has warrned the civilians in the North and East to be cautions over a fraudster who is calling himself ‘Major Seelan’.

The fraudster has approached several parents of missing persons and convinced them by saying that he was a major in the army and he could help them to trace their missing relatives.

The fraudster had also demanded money from the people whom he had come across.

Therefore the Sri Lanka army’s media spokesman Maj. Gen. U.A.P. Medawela in a statement cautioned the people in the North and East to be vigilant of this fraudster.
