Suspected LTTE terrorists have looted the United Nations offices located in the Tiger-held Kilinochchi. The UN, in a statement, said they have drawn this to the attention of the LTTE and said that humanitarian assets and staff ought to be protected at all times in accordance with international humanitarian law.
Last week, the UN and other INGOs based in Wanni, except for the ICRC, withdrew from the area and shifted to Vavuniya.
