District Court issues injunction against poster campaign on Fonterra [October 03 2008]

The District Court of Colombo issued an injunction order preventing a poster campaign displaying slogans against Fonterra Brands and selling Raththi and Anchor milk power. Posters have sprung up in the city against the New Zealand based due to the recent melamine incident reported in China. Fonterra owns 43% of the Chinese dairy company - San Lu, troubled with the melamine poisoning.

Fonterra Bands which is a subsidiary of the New Zealand's Fonterra, the sixth-largest dairy company in the world, reported to the Court that all dairy products sold in Sri Lanka are made only from New Zealand and Sri Lankan raw materials and not from any contaminated Chinese milk and is safe for human consumption.
