Sri Lanka beat Canada to enter four-nation T20 final [October 13 2008]

Sri Lanka qualified to play Pakistan in Tuesday's final of the Canada Twnty20 four-nation cricket tournament final when they beat Canada by 15 runs in Toronto yesterday.

Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka made 153 for 7 in 20 overs with skipper making a top score of 35 off 21 balls with six boundaries. Despite an explosive 68 off 43 balls with six sixers and four boundaries by Rizwan Cheema, the home team was bowled out for 138 in the last ball of their innings. Ajantha Mendis bagged 4 for 17 to be adjudged Man of the Match.

Chamara Kapugedara was dropped from the side for yesterday's game.

Sri Lanka: 153 for 7 in 50 overs. (Sanath Jayasuriya 14, Jehan Mubarak 17, Mahela Jayawardene 35, Tillakaratne Dilshan 26, Balaji Rao 3 for 25).

Canada: 138 all out in 20 overs (Rizwan Cheema 68, Ajantha Mendis 4 for 17, Dilhara Fernando 3 for 24, Dilhara Lokuhettige 2 for 6).
