Another eight-year-old student killed in B’caloa

Another gruesome killing of an eight-year-old schoolgirl was reported from the Batticaloa town following the discovery of her highly decomposed body from an abandoned well in the Batticaloa town yesterday, police sources told the Observer Online.

Several persons who spotted the body of a young girl floating in a well had complained to the Grama Niladhari who in turn had informed the Batticaloa police.

Police later visited the scene and retrieved the girl’s body with the help of those at the scene. They also recovered the girl’s school uniform from the well. The girl victim was identified by her relatives as Denushika Satheeshkumar who resided at Kannagi Amman Road in the Batticaloa town.

She had gone to school on Tuesday accompanied by her grandfather, Muthuwel around 7.30.am. However, Denushika was reported missing after school. Her grandfather had complained to the Batticaloa police about the missing girl from the school.
