UNP to help Northern IDPs

The United National Party launched a program to collect dry rations, milk foods, ready made garments and medicine to be distributed to over 180,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North.

UNP, General Secretary, Tissa Attanayake told the Observer Online that some UNP members visited the camps few weeks ago to look into the welfare of IDPs and decided to start this humanitarian program on the directive of UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.

In addition to donations made by district UNP organisers to this worthy cause, Attanayake also appealed individuals to make their contributions to the party Head Quarters.
