Ceremonies to mark Ranaviru Week will begin on Wednesday the 12th.
The Defence Ministry declared the week from the 12th to the 18th to commemorate fallen War Heroes and those who contributed to victory. Commemoration ceremonies are being organized at the Provincial level.
The Central Province will hold its commemoration on the 12th while the Uva, the Northern and Eastern Provinces will hold the commemoration on the 13th. North Western ceremonies are scheduled for the 14th. In the Southern Province, the commemoration ceremony will be held on the 15th. The North Central and Sabragamuwa Provinces will hold commemoration ceremonies on the 16th and 17th respectively.
This will be the first Ranaviru week to be organized since the routing of terrorism. In addition all regiments of the Sri Lanka Army will be conducting religious observances and felicitations to commemorate the war heroes week.
