Ranil may lose Opposition Leader’s post - Dayasiri 

UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe may lose his Opposition Leader’s post, if the UNP Alternate Wing oppose his leadership when the Parliament meets on September 21.
<p>The UNP Alternate Wing will sit as an independent group in the House of Wickremesinghe does not respond to the demands put forward by the reformists let by Sajith Premadasa and Dayasiri Jayasekera. However, they will not support the Government and will function as an independent group in the house. “If the UNP leader does not respond before the Parliament meets again, he could well lose the Opposition Leader’s post. That is a possibility,” parliamentarian Jayasekera was quoted as saying.
