7,000 job vacancies in BOI zones

<P>A total of 7,000 job vacancies exists the Investment Promotions Zones in the Country, the Board of Investment (BOI) said today. The BOI said that investment promotion zones island wide have vacancies for over 7,000 positions in various categories. 

<P>Vacancies are available for the skilled and unskilled workers in the garment, furniture, diamond, rubber, plastic and electronic trades, BOI says. More than 1,000 vacancies are available in Katunayake, Seethawaka, Biyagama and Mawathagama export zones. 

<P>Over 600 vacancies are unfilled in Wathupitiwala export zone. Around 300 vacancies are available in Koggala and hundreds of unfilled positions are in other investment zones as well.
