Four Acting Ministers sworn in

Four Acting Ministers were sworn in before Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne at the Prime Minister’s Office, Colombo today.

The acting appointments were made due to the absence of four Cabinet who are accompanying President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his current state visit to the United Sates to attend the United Nations General Assembly.

Accordingly, Deputy Ministers Geethanjana Gunawardena, Dilan Perera, S.M. Chandrasena and Weerakumara Dissanayake were appointed as Acting Ministers for External Affairs, Public Administration and Home Affairs, Irrigation and Water Resources Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development respectively.

Ministers in the Presidential delegation to the US are Professor G.L. Peiris, John Senawiratna, Nimal Siripalade Silva and Douglas Devananda.
