A 68-year-old who was knocked down by a bus yesterday, succumbed to her injuries at Mahiyangana hospital. The suspected driver of the bus was produced before Mahiyangana Magistrate today.
W.M. Heenmenika was attempting to cross the road near the third milepost of the Mahiyangana-Giyandurukotte Road by a bus plying from Mahiyangana to Kaduruwela. She was initially admitted to Mahiyangana Base Hospital and was later transferred to Kandy General Hospital. She had been sent back to Mahiyangana Base Hospital last evening where she succumbed to her injuries.
