Commonwealth Games chief rushing to New Delhi September 22 2010

  A top Commonwealth Games officials says the games chief is rushing to New Delhi on an emergency visit amid widespread anger over Indias frenzied last-minute preparations for next months international sports event.

Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive Mike Hooper told The Associated Press that the federations president, Mike Fennell, would arrive Thursday and had requested a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Fennells arrival comes as organizers struggle to cope with unfinished buildings, a filthy athletes village, a bridge collapse and numerous other problems.
