Govt ready to defeat No-confidence motion against GL   September 26 2010

The Government is confident that it could defeat the no-confidence motion against External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris that will be taken up for debate in Parliament on October 7.

“That will be another futile attempt by the UNP which is struggling for survival. They must first settle their internal disputes first. We will make sure the UNP faces more problems after their no-confidence motion against Prof G. L. Peiris gets defeated,” Trade Minister Johnston Fernando said today.

Minister Fernando told the Observer Online a short while ago that the UPFA parliamentarians will be at full strength to defeat the motion signed by United National Party MPs John Ameratunga, Ravi Karunanayake, Lakshman Kiriella and Wijeyadasa Rajapakse.
