Milliband loses to younger brother in leadership tussle   [September 26 2010]

David Milliband, the controversial former Foreign Secretary of Britain, lost the battle to become the next leader of the Labour Party – and then to be the next leader of opposition - in a dramatic way last evening.

The winner was Ed Milliband, his younger brother, who up until the loss of the Labour Party at the general election, was a relatively unknown cabinet minister in Gordon Brown’s cabinet.

The loss is a severe blow to David Milliband, who was the undisputed heir apparent for the top post in the Labour party up until recently.
