Over 1,000 rural and remote schools will get modern facilities

<p>Over 1,000 schools in urban and remote areas will get facilities similar to popular schools, soon. 

<p>Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena said the decision was taken to ease the high demand for national and prestigious schools. 

<p>“ The selected schools will get all the facilities with laboratory equipment, computer centres and language skills development centres,” he said.

<p>Among over 9700 schools in the country over 340 national schools are administered by the line ministry of education and all others come under the purview of Provincial administrations.
