National festival to mark Children’s Day

<p>A national festival to mark the world children day which falls on October 1, will be held at Suwaruapalee girls school Anuradhapura from October 1-3 said child development and women affairs Minister Tissa Karalliyedde. 


<p>The theme of the festival is "Give hands to enlighten the children". A three day childrens camp in which 525 children will be participated from all parts of the Island will feature the festival the minister said at a media briefing held at the Information Department auditorium this morning.

<p>The final day celebrations will be held under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and first lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the minister said.
