K. D. Randeniya from Ranabima Royal MV Peradeniya and Pabasara Senanayake from St. Joseph’s College Kegalle took the individual honours as they were selected as the Most Outstanding Boys and Girls Athlete respectively at the All Island National Schools Games athletic meet which concluded at the Sugathadasa Stadium today.
Randeniya put up a record breaking performance to win the gold medal in the boys under 17, 110 metres hurdles with an effort of 14.24 seconds that shattered the previous record of 14.26 seconds.
Pabasara Senanayake also put up a fine performance to win the girls under 19, 100 metres and the 200 metres events with a good timing. She was also named as the best athlete from the Sabaragamuwa Province.
