The Disaster Management Centre today warned pubic against lightning and stressed the need to take extra precautionary measures. Thunder showers and lightening has caused heavy damages while six deaths too have been reported due to lightening.
Six people have been killed by lightning in Ratnapura, Badulla, Moneragala and Gampaha during the past 48 hours. Several roads in Galle and Gampaha districts are blocked due to floods.
