Commonwealth Games: Swimmer Unanboowe makes a first round exit [October 04 2010]

Sri Lanka’s Heshan Unamboowe painted a poor picture to finish sixth in men’s 50m back stroke heat two and made a first round exit in the Commonwealth Games swimming competition begun in New Delhi today.

Unamboowe clocked an unimpressive 27.87 seconds in the heat two of the men’s 50m backstroke first round worked off on day one of the competition today. The race was won by Australian Haydon Stoeakel who clocked 25.56 seconds. Competing in lane two, Unamboowe never recovered after a poor start and finished the race 2.30 seconds behind the Australian winner.
