New primary schools at T’gala [October 05 2010]

New primary schools have been set up at the vicinity of the Baron’s cap region, which is known as Thoppigala in the Eastern Province.

Thoppigala was once the strong hold area of the LTTE and it remained inaccessible for several years. However, the Thoppigala area was liberated from the clutches of the LTTE by the security forces in 2008.

The chief minister of Eastern Province Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan opened the new primary school buildings in the Thoppigala region recently.

The students who were denied any access for primary education in Thoppigala area are now attend schools without any hindrance.

New primary school buildings in Thoppigala have been put up at a cost of Rs. 3 million. Stationeries and furniture have also been provided for the school goers in Thoppigala.
