Sri Lanka’s Mangala Samarakoon finished 13th out of 16 competitors at the qualifying round of the men’s 10m air rifle competition of the Commonwealth Games shooting competition in New Delhi today.
Samarakoon was completely off target in registering unimpressive scores to average 9.623. Indians Ganan Narang (10.000) and Abhinav Bindra (9.917) were in fine form to secure the first two places. Narang went on to total 703.6 in the final to secure the gold medal while Bindra settled for the silver. James Huckle of England won the bronze.
