<P>EPF tops Rs. 852 b

<P>The total amount of money in the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) as at August 31, 2010 was Rs. 852 billion.

<P>Labour Relations and Productivity Promotion Deputy Minister Dr. Jagath
Balasuriya told Parliament that Rs. 26,900 million from the fund has been
invested in the Colombo Stock Exchange at present. The amount invested in
the Ceylon Hotels Corporation from fund is Rs. 689.02 million.

<P>The Deputy Minister said the EPF has made Rs. 20,376 million profit by
investing in the Colombo Stock Exchange. The profit from the Hotels
Corporation investment is about Rs. 127.4 million.
