A woman who travelled on the pillion of a motor cycle died at the Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) of the Karapitiya hospital on Thursday following injuries sustained when the motor cycle collided with a private bus travelling from the opposite direction near the Magalle bridge.
The deceased has been identified as M.D. Karunawathie (70) a resident of Poraba, Akuressa. The motor cycle rider who sustained injuries was also admitted to the Karapitiya hospital. The driver of the private bus has been taken into custody by the Harbour police.(JJ)
